Sea kayaking around Kolocep Island
For kayakers and divers alike, Kolocep is the most interesting of the 13 Elafiti
Islands. Pleasant walking trails, sandy beaches and not a single car in sight, make
this island the perfect getaway.
A sea kayaking journey around Kolocep Island takes you through dramatic landscapes
of giant
rocks, high cliffs, colorful reefs, hidden caves and quiet bays. On the
south-western side of the island is the Blue Cave where one must swim. Inside the
cave, the light hitting the white sandy bottom
turns every swimmer a blue color, which vanishes once you leave the cave. Then on
the return journey, stop at the
restaurant in Gornje Celo, known for its excellent cuisine and
overlooking a beautiful sandy beach.
Sea kayaking around Lopud Island
Lopud Island has one of the most beautiful beaches in Croatia. Sunj Beach,
found on the southwest side of the island, is renowned for its light white sand
and crystal clear ocean water. From Kolocep, you will enjoy kayaking to this small
paradise and take advantage of its restaurants before heading back out to sea in
the boat.
Lopud has a rich cultural history. Not only can you enjoy the stunning natural beauty
of the island, but also its architecture, such as a beautiful Franciscan monastery,
currently under renovation, which dates back several hundred years
Sea kayaking around Trsteno
On the Adriatic coast, 18 kilometers from Dubrovnik, is the historic village of Trsteno.
In the 15th century, the aristocratic family, Gucetic-Gozze, built their summer
estate which houses the famous Arboretum, known for their 500 year old Asiatic plane
trees.
This Renaissance park has an ancient collection of cultivated and exotic trees,
plants and flowers, an aqueduct and a Baroque fountain. It is one of the best examples
of garden architecture found among the Dubrovnik summer manors.
After an easy stroll through the soft green shade of the Arboretum, you can enjoy
paddling underneath steep cliffs and waterfalls, discovering the many hidden beaches.
